It seems I will be needing someone to do a subterranian termite treatment within the next 30 days, in Fremont.  Times being the way they are, just thought I'd give NCKA'ers a shot...  anyone into pest control, or have a family member in the biz?

Eric,

Its a simple spray job under the house. Not expensive and the smell afterwards is a soapy smell. Last time I had it done it was only a few hundred bucks.

I suspected as much, and the inspector confided in me that it doesn't even need it, really, since there are no signs of active termites...  but the money-lenders insist.

Good to know it's cheap, at least.

Donna and I were talking about you the other day, wondering if you were able to get the house. Sounds like it. Great news man.

We were successful refinancing. Our loan officer and dear friend submitted our loan app along with 4 other families. We were the only ones that made it through. We feel terrible as these 4 familes are now out of or soon to be out of their homes.

But we financed out the $110,000.00 we paid for the older kid's college (bye, bye second mortgage) education, paid off and tore up all but 1 credit card which now has a zero balance, and our mortgage payment went up only 300 bucks/mo.

30 year fixed at 4 3/8's.

I'm so friggin relieved....  3 years ago the house appraised at $1,000,000.00. Last month it appraised at $605,000.00. I'll take it......

Congrats to you, Rich!

Yes, it appears I'm IN, but dealing with the credit union, (Patelco) has been like pulling teeth...  actually, having had a tooth pulled recently the loan people are worse.

For instance, they are insisting I put an additional 6 grand in escrow to cover the termite thing, which you are telling me costs 1/10 of that...  on an AS-IS sale...  wtf?

But I will dance the dance...  what other choice do I have?  Dealing with Wells Fargo was even worse.

Anyway, bbq at my place in a few weeks, if all goes well.  BYOF, (bring your own furniture).

In know Eric, a lot of these new laws make no friggin sense.

Our loan process came to a dead stop until I wrote a letter to the lender explaining why I took out a consumer credit account with home depot. I had to explain in writing that I was taking advantage of the zero interest offered for 6 months by Home Depot so I could purchase a Weber gas BBQ......and that I promise to pay the entire balance within the first 6 months....And I had to give them my left nut..... almost :^) :smt013

Then the day we funded, the lender sold the loan to B of A.....

Go get those Sean!!! They're super easy to take care of.  You got a big property right?  They can just run around the yard if you dont have dogs that will eat them, just make sure to lock em in their coop at night or the coons will have at em!!!
