I know, there are big fish up there that chew on boats.

I know, it has been suggested that we wait a while before paddling there. I could give it a full week since the last incident, but I'm pretty sure that sharks don't have calendars.

But.... the fishing should be good, the weather looks good, and dammit, I wanna go.

I probably won't venture out there alone, but if anyone else is free, let's do it.

Bean Hollow may be a little crowded after this article ran in all of the East Bay newspapers.

Adam, I go to Chabot college. I can bring you my P15 with a F/F. You can keep it for a little while. I don't have a fancy set-up like the one you had, though. Let me know and I'll bring it with me. I'll be in HMB this weekend for the C/S Lingcod derby and can bring it then as well.

Maybe I'm just a wussy, but maybe we should give the Bean a pass as a destination.  In the last three years two kayak fishermen have been attacked by GWS there.  Given the short rockfish season as well as the limited number of fishable days here, and then factoring the relative few numbers of kayak fishermen who fish it...the number of attacks (relative) is frighteningly high.

I'm no shark expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once.  Given that the previous attack was during the same time of year, I'm inclined to think that the GWS are there and actively feeding.  Maybe the Bean should be fished in the Spring.
