JK,

I saw those PBs outside of Morro Bay. Had to be from Virgs, but Virgs has no WSB in their counts. Stealth WSB fishing I guess.

hey man virgs doesnt report any PB reports. It is real slow for them now with maybe a few being caught for 20-30 boats.

I have not made it out for the WSB bite yet, but the hot spot from what I can see is out from the Santa Maria river mouth... been 20 or so boats out there every day and think there is a guy selling live squid in that area.

Luke,

There's supposed to be a lot of squid in the area, so you can jig for bait. I can't get out, with a 10 day vacation coming up next week. Could you estimate how far out the fleet is? If you go, good luck.

Not sure how far out, would guess a mile or so... I read that there are some "long skinny fish" in the area as well.  I keep my eye on fishreports.net, those guys post all day every day so you can get a good idea of what is going on right now.  Lots to look into... guess the WSB bite heats up just before the full and new moon cycle, but dies just after the event.  Good luck!
