Came up one a poke poling rig at Albion, a friend of mine who bought $30 in tickets won it, he ended up leaving it with me.

Id love to give this a try for some of them ugly ass eels.

Anyone have any suggestions on good spots?

Anyone interested in going sometime?

YES, I wanna give it a shot.  Got a bunch of guys at work interested too!  Been looking for a neg. tide weekend that i'm not fishing already :smt044  Will be picking a date sometime in the next few weeks to give this a try.  Hey, can you list the make/model of the poke pole you got?  I'm still looking for a 12ft piece of bamboo, but may just get a collapsible one like yours...

I am up for it as well. Andy took me to Moss Landing at low tide, just used long heavy wire , loop the end with a swivel on the end and put on a hook or a shrimp fly with squid strip on the end. It was super easy and fun.

My wife and I love them they are great eating.
Let's go, take the wife and kids and sit on the jetty poke poling and have a picnic.

Hey Al. Last saturday I saw some blank poke poles on display up on the ceiling in a party boat store in the Pillar Point Harbor. It's the one the Queen of Hearts  goes out of by the ATM machine. They looked pretty nice but I think they are $30

The wire for cyclone fencing works great for a tip.  It's bendable, to get into crevices.  Pound the tip flat and drill a hole for your hook, or short leader.

Attached to a busted fishing pole, or bamboo...

Too long and transport becomes an issue...  make sure it fits your vehicle.

I'm interested. Could someone post a hookup when a time and place has been decided? Perhaps Kris can show us how it's done.
