Seeking sturgeon, but will not turn nose up to striped bass or large leopard sharks.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I've never been out on the bay and would love to join in on this also. I've always wondered how you unhook a shark from a yak ... besides very carefully.   :smt003

safer bet : just cut the line when you have a big shark right next to you. I've landed two 46-47 inchers from Coyote Point and San Pablo Bay and I made the mistake of bringing 'em on board both times. They do the "death roll" (just like crocodiles & alligators do when feeding) on you and your line just wraps around their bodies and creates more problems when you're trying to release them safely. Just my 2 cents....
