I recently bought a kayak and have one excellent trip under my belt. My first experience was a few weeks ago with a guide out of Stillwater Cove in Monterey.

My brother and I are going to head out and go for some Abs at Fort Ross then transition to fishing. My question is this, Where should we head out for fishing if we launch in the south cove. I have a lot of experience shore diving from the north cove but have never fished down there.

Any suggestion would be helpful

Take your pick. Either direction will work but don't go too far if the winds are forecasted to come up. I was down south by Pedotti's one day and it came up to 25kts. That was a struggle to get back to the launch. Good luck! jim
