This was my second "first" kayak, it was bigger than the 9 footer I got from Costco, but I'm gonna keep that one.

It's an Explorer, 11 ft

 http://www.cobrakayaks.com/kayaks/cobracat2.html

I just added a Trident 13 to my little fleet so the old Explorer has to go, I've had this boat in lakes, rivers and the ocean, We've been dumped once by a tiny little breaker on the Sonoma Coast and done a full yardsale landing at Big Sur.  It might be a little short for the ocean but on a good day...........

Includes PFD (old ski jacket), seat, paddle, rod holder, and milk crate. Although I just went out to take pics and now remember the milk crate doesn't fit very well. Add water and tackle and you're good to go.

The yak does have a couple issues. Hence the price.

First, I had a hard time getting the transducer to stay put inside the hull so I actually screwed a holder in place. Those screw holes are below the waterline but the transducer and holder stay so that shouldn't cause any problems. Pics included.

Second, the seat area of the hull startd to sag a little. As a warranty service Cobra sent me a set of foam blocks to slide into the hull to support the seat area but they filled that area completely so I couldn't store long stuff like rods in it.  I came up with my own fix. There is a section of hull in this boat that is horizontal so I put a 1X12 board across the horizontal flats directly under the seat with some of the foam block as a spacer.  Works great, 100% reliable and safe and still allows rod storage in the hull.  Pic included.

The one thing I would add before I used it again would be about 10 - 12 pool noodles to ensure flotation should things go bad, this goes for new as well as used yaks.

Pic 1 topside with accessories,
Pic 2 bottom
Pic 3 screws holding in the transducer holder
pic 4 transducer holder from the inside
pic 5 seat support

Dale there was a guy in HMB (deckhand on a party boat) that was looking for a boat..I think in the $250. You may search for his post. I'd say he posted about a week ago. He was willing to trade labor for a boat.

here ya go...

I'll take it if Zack doesn't go for it.

My Cobra Navigator was stolen last month and I'm poor right now, itching to get OTW.

Call me if it's available 805-459-9324
