I have several 7-9 foot one piece rods that I need to transport with my kayaks in a mid-size car. Previously I was using my grandpas truck so transporting the rods was not an issue. I finally bought a roof rack for my car and I need a some good ideas on how to transport the rods on the rack. I would like to keep the reels on the rods if possible.

Does anyone have pictures of how you transport rods on your rack?

I've seen very nice protective cases made from large diameter PVC pipe. Not large enough to include the reels though.
The ones I've seen were bolted or bungee'd to a Yakima rack. The cool thing was that they could be made as long as necessary, even for surf rods.

Put 'em inside the yaks!  When I have both yaks on top on family trips, I put all the fishing & yak gear inside, plus anything else that will fit.
