Has anybody test drove this monster? I was planning on getting a new yak by spring and was going to go with the Hobie Outback. I was at Clavey's in Petaluma yesterday and they had a 4.7 in back in the camo color, thing looked bad a@#.

I've never test ridden one but saw one in person.  All I can say is, if that model was available at the time I bought my Outback, I would have bought the 4.7 without even paddling it and would have never looked back.  As a Hobie owner, I can say yes, having the mirage drive is a nice addition to have especially when river fishing, however it is far from being the perfect fishing machine.  If you decide to buy the Outback, I'll sell you mine for a decent price  :smt003.  I could use the room for a new 4.7.

If you got an ultra you'd have to change up your rack situation! :smt003
Why don't you just get a used paddlin' boat to expand your quiver,
as your outback is a sweet fishin' machine!
BTW great times yesterday at the "secret" spot!
