On  July 3 evening, I saw a bait  ball being worked by pelicans , seals , and dolphins at the same time. Never seen that before. Intense. Just outside the harbor at the first swim buoy to the east.Wasn't much going on outside the harbor  earlier in the week.
Don't know about inside,  they were there, past the bridge, I heard. If they are outside , some usually find their way between the entrance  and Aldo's.

I didn't find any on the paddle up to Natural Bridges on Friday 7/2, but I heard they were around the mile buoy area and i did see birds working bait off of black's beach south of the harbor when I paddled in.
I'd say it's worth a shot Darius!

If there were any dines in the SC Wharf yesterday, they got tossed.  It was pretty big, both Cowells and the Lane were going off.  Must have been 200+ people out on the waves.

I was out yesterday between Cap and the Cement Boat for a few hours...it was getting a little big that way too!

I picked up enough dines to keep a fresh one on my line but never enough to stock a bait-well or nothing.

Met Rey and Danny (LapuLapu and Superd270?) on Rey's PB and they gave me a beer!!   :smt004

Thanks fellas!

Also met Kirk/LilRiverMan and Dean/aphrodiziyak?...nice to meet you guys!!

I got one RF that we wrapped in foil and cooked down at the beach with my buddy's family...yummy!!

No other takedowns... :smt009

I think I am 0 for 7 now on the flattie hunt!!!!   :smt005 :smt044 :smt012

Beats working though!!

 :smt005

Sincerely,

Jim

Coming out of the harbor, you'll find them to the left at Black's point.  They had been thick in near Cowells beach.

Bocci Boy brought a boatload of Sardine into the bait receiver in the Harbor yesterday.

I was at Capitola and New brighton yesterday.....LOT'S of bait!!! There were a couple of rental skills that were out there strictly for the sardines. Hell, I should have done the same cause the RF / Halibut was tough  :smt002 Frank did the smart thing and took some dines home for dinner.

man....now I'm craving for 'em....fresh dines smothered with Montreal Steak seasoning and cooked whole over the grill....put 'em over rice and have some squeezed lemon on da soyu on da side :smt007
