i asked my ex-jag colleague about trying to board unannounced.  I argued, "Its SF, peacetime!"  He made the international gesture for shooting a long-barreled gun (you know, two index fingers extended in the same general direction where the thumbs imitate hammers)   

think i'll head to aquatic park and risk getting bit by a rabid seal instead

This weekend is gay pride in SF - some of those sailors may be expecting half-naked men to be climbing up the ship.
