Launched at 4 pm and was on the water until 5:30.  Not a whole lot of time, but still had some fun bringing in the ling.
Very calm at the launch.  Unusually calm.     :cyclops:

I digged the sunset  :smt004

For that short amount of time, I was only able to bring in RockFish and a Ling.
Enjoyed fighting the Ling.

Since I was by myself and it was dark.  Things began to get creepy.    :pale:
I don't like fishing alone, and I really don't like fishing alone at night!

Paddled back to shore, not sure exacltly where the launch spot was.  Landed and was off by about 50 yards.
A big set came in right after I landed.  Whew!

During the week, I look forward to fish on the weekends.  Just a little time on the water is all I need.

it's funny how a little fishing goes a long way.

great photos, you are giving mooch a run for the money here.

people surf malibu on a full moon, maybe you should try fishing it
on a full moon? some glowing scampis or b2 squids?

Btw, are the gloves to hide your robot hand?  :smt003

I haven't heard much about kayakers using b2 squids. Those might work better for Pacific Halibut.

I wear long cuff wash gloves then put on the blue cleaning gloves to protect my skin from getting wet.
My skin is super-dry and I need to take care of it.  Touching news paper feels like sand paper.
It's a long story but that is what I have to do now on in this dry climate of California.  Believe me, I wish I didn't have to wear them. :smt009

potto sorry about my comment! please accept my apology.

regarding the B2 squids, they come in 3", 5", 7", 9", and in lots of colors,
I have some 5" motor oil red fleck. they fit a 1 to 2 oz bullet jig head well.
They are actually from the makers of krocodile, luhr-jensen. typically,
they are not cheap. I did just hear that rapala bought luhr-jensen and moved
operations to china. don't know if that is true or not. maybe they'll be cheaper
soon.

I haven't tried 'em, but I think they'll get hits, they have to be as good as
a grub or scampi. There are some pictures from chef stefano catching
a ling, it looks like this is what he is using.

also I have a 1 oz, brown and gold fresh water bass jig with rattles. It has
a weed guard too so it should not get hung up in the kelp.  you might check
that out as a early morning option if you run short on rattle spoons.

Why?  You didn't say anything offensive.  Nothing to be sorry for.

Maybe I will, but right now I have so many lures I haven't tried with success.  Like the bucktail.
