Stayed at a friend's house in SF last night and woke up this morning at 0430 to the windows rattling in the wind.  Decided to head to Paradise anyway to check things out.  Arrived at the gate at 0700 and barely a breeze.  Apparently the ridge was blocking the SW wind as Paradise Cove was warm, flat, and with barely a breeze all day from the SW and W.  Long day OTW from 0730-1630, mostly drifting shiners, a bit of jigging.  Fished with Gabe (Eldorado) and Rob (Diroblo).  Good fishing with you guys as always. Fishing was slow, only one very soft bite all day, landed a 24.25" butt.  Marked alot of bait, a few times there were a few baitfish busting on the surface, some pelican and grebe feeding, but slow fishing all through the outgoing and incoming tides.  Amazingly beautiful day at Paradise, especially given the forecast.

Congrat on the nice catch!  Looks like the Halibuts are late getting there this year.  We're catching lots of them in May and June last year.  Thanks for the report and pictures John.

Nice job!  Kind of unhappy we pulled the plug but with the wind forecast, just did not want to risk it.
Good job guys.

WTG on the hali John. Yeah, it seems very slow this year. I wonder if it will pickup
or if it will be like this for the rest of the summer.

once again John, you can catch'em at Paradise when others can't

Still can't believe I was fishing Capitola yesterday morning and hit Paradise that afternoon, speaking of butts, mine is sore!

Congrats again, maybe next time you can hook one for me and let me reel it in! :smt005
