Oh I am so down.  Sadly, I am only in the bay area about 12 days a month, but if my schedule works out we are there.  LOVE to cook and the GF is the best sous this hack could ever hope for.

I am in depending on the date. Saturday is usually my fishing day so Sunday works better for me.

10 grill/fry/cookers is not enough....if 5 more committed, we could start thinking of a date = Oct is my thoughts.

we need 5 more to commit!!!!!!!!!  then, i think it would attract more "committed paying eaters" to show up.

So post up a pic of something you've created(if u can) and/or if you plan to show up with something other than a food item.

ie~water
     drinks
     eating untencils
     a lot of hungry people
     your services

or a good ol'fashioned Fish N' Chill will be done and another hat passed around for our Ambassador Of NCKA= Mooch = he'll be needing it then.

looks like this aint gonna happen.....not enough commited cookers to do it. Oh well!, i'm sure the ones who did commit, would be down for a smaller secret chill venue instead. 

but wait, this is a cool idea... might take some more time to plan... theres gotta be 10 cooks here... i cant compete with some of you cats...

maybe its the combo... fish n beach bbq cook off? id pay for this, some cool beach with good fishing. i thought this was a great idea...

Yeah, still think this is a good idea, fundraiser or not! Seems to me that 10 NCKA guys could feed an ARMY!   But I'd like to see Mooch carried around wearing a crown and his on special SPORK to taste everything

Don't give up... I'm in with cooker to travel....Deep fried Turkey, or Carnitas (slowed cooked for three hours), or assload (Ravensblack term) for southern fried chicken.............

Dude the FishHunter throwing in the towel...NOWAY MAN...everybody I cook fish for drool...So I'm down with my weber...and the FM1 Deep fryer I'm taking home sat...Oh Hell Yessss!!!!!

If I may make a suggestion...  This sounds great in theory, but it might be easier to judge if we stick to ONE item...  Say Chili, or Ribs, or chowder...

That way it can remain competitive, just with a little more structure.

I cannot compete with a semi-pro chef... 

But anyone has a shot at winning a chili cookoff.

I thought this was to raise money for the Mooch fund...who cares bout winning I just want to eat some good eats...not to change your subject Eric B...no offence...   But the cooking every body whips up at the meets is hard to beat!!!
