Not everyone is keen with me posting hookups to fish that section of the coast.  I have fished/surfed San Mateo and Santa Cruz for 20 years, and I understand why people are protective of their favorite spots.  In that regard, I try to put forth a spirit of conservation and stewardship for the ocean with those I fish with.  Before my friends bought kayaks, I came on this board to find people to fish with, and fortunately found a few like Dustin and Obkook.  I am just trying to keep karma rolling.  To balance concerns, I’m going to continue to post hookups, but I will be less specific about where I am fishing.

If people have problems with you posting hook-ups ....I say "EF THEM". It's your choice. NCKA was organized to get like minded people together. If "these people" have problems with that, then why even bother being a part of this community?  :smt011

I am with Mooch 120%.   F'em!    This community is about sharing.

McCag-  I have always really enjoyed reading your posts.  Please keep them coming.   I live in San Mateo and hope to someday meetup with you on the coast.  I am with you on stewardship and conservation.

Agarcia -   I agree with your post about the grocery store mentality.  It is a great pity when people do not fish with a mind towards sustainability.  I am also with you on your point about working for our rewards, watching the water for an hour to see if it is kayak launchable.    That is the reward for the experienced person kayaker.     I am a relative newbie, having fished the blue for only 1-2 seasons.    I wish i had the skills necessary to do that, but for now, must rely on the experience and expertise of others to show me the way.

McCaig and everyone,

Great thread got me riled up in several ways hope I am not drawing out a conversation most you vetran guys are sick of but.....

That spot is pretty rad and love the pictures however I can see why "some people" don't want their faverout spots to be overrun or overfished. There are some other cases where access is more limited and the fear may be that too much traffic may incite the locals to try and close off public access.

Mooch/Agarcia,

Like the idea of reducing the 10 rockfish fish (grocery store mentality) limit, it's pretty hard to consume that many without giving alot away.

Piscean,

People really launch zodiacs from there? Isn't there some regulations regarding launching motorized craft from public beaches?

EWB,

What did happen to the guy who thought his way was the only way? Do you get banned if your opinions are expressed too strongly?

No real need to respond these are just questions that came to mind right away, oh and is this what is considered a thread jack (if so my apologies McCaig)
