N of PP was ....well, it was doable I guess but it looked like a bumpy ride out there, and with this morning's low, low tide the Bean bowl was not looking like the most attractive menu choice.
Opted instead for Santa Cruz, where (so they say) there aren't any fish, but after cutting up fir logs all morning yesterday I was ready for some mellow fishing in the glassed off sunshine drenched Cruz.

9am I picked up this decent halibut in about 25 fow.
First fish on my custom gaff!

Aaron scored a beauty of a Cabezon @ 21+". We came in with enough stoke to tide us over for the father's day weekend.

I guess my new yak mojo was working. I did the new designs in good old testors model paint, we'll see how they hold up during the season.

Absolutely gorgeous conditions in Da Cruz today.

Better 'blown from' then 'blown by' - I think...?  Anyway, nice fish!

Weather turned - became super nice - and it was an epic day out there.  I'll post some later.

Alright Sean! In the first pic I can almost smell the redwood forest and the leaves crunching underfoot. Now light the coals and the odor is complete. Congrats man.

Nice work, Sean!

After seeing you at the Point, we decided to put in anyway and fish in the leeward side. An hour and a half later it was glassy and sunny, and although the bite wasn't "on", we were rewarded with relative consistency for our perseverence. (MCag can start that thread as he was the heavyweight today)

I do like the artwork, and Ravesnblack set me to drooling thinking if it grilling over the coals!

Hope to fish with you next time.
