I was wondering if you foresee any problems in trying to relocate from the launching area to the beach banquet raffle area? Last year Yakhopper had a fishing contest in the area and he put on a BBQ in the harbor parking lot. Not as nice as the beach sands but much easier not having to relocate and pay another six bucks for non-existant parking.

Dude Al, nice. Love the little chief. Got one my self, cool items.

Bigwavedave, not so sure on the parking lot as we will have a ton of people, family and friends, not only that it prolly isn't the best choice for children. Worst case we paddle, and return, then just walk over the bridge down to the beach. I know it's not absolutely ideal, just working with what we got, and it's for a good cause. My plan is to arrive early, get beach parking and wheel my yak to the launch and back. Allen informed me that the harbor master prefers we launch at the kayak launch too, just a heads up.

Apparently Paypal doesn't like raffles.  Bear with me as I straighten this out.

I have been DENIED by Paypal to accept raffle payments.  It is against their Acceptable Use Policy.  If you've already paid via Paypal, I will be contacting you.  I'll check into other online payment methods, but apparently raffles may be considered a form of gambling so it's better that they just not cross that line so they don't have to deal with it.  Grrr ... what do you do?

Could the payment be considered a donation to enter into the paddle...the raffle ticket could just be "given" to those who make a donation as an entance to the event...maybe??

Sincerely,

Jim

It certainly could be.  We'll figure it out and adapt accordingly.

Awesome offer from local SUP shop owner!!!

Subject: Donation of SUPs for use in Pay it Forward Paddle
Hi Jim,

Scott Ruble of Covewater Paddle Surf here. If anyone would like to use a stand up paddleboard for the paddle, we'd be happy to donate free use of up to four of our rental stand up paddleboards. They would just need to pick up at our shop the day before the paddle, then have them back at the shop by noon on Saturday (as we have lessons at 1:00 pm Saturday and will need them back).

Please shoot me an email if you are interested: [email protected]

Here is the link to Scott's shop:

Any of you guys want to take a SUP out instead of your yak, or have a friend who wants to?? Let me know!!!

Sincerely,

Jim
