Hey guys,
Bloodbath here. Met up with wilderneshunter early in the morning and made our way to the Sonoma coast. First glimpse of the ocean at Jenner looked good and glassy with just a small swell. We were getting excited at this point! Stopped by a friends house to make sure it was ok to hit up a secret spot, and off we went. Today was Brian's day to get him an abalone! My plan was to hang with him in the water until he plucked one, two, yup three! Now that's what I'm talking about. It was great to see Brian testing his gear, to identify what worked, and what did not.
On my first dive down with abalone iron in hand, I see a lingcod in a hole staring at me! Damn!!!!! Spear first or pluck abs first is the question?  3 abs each, first dive with Brian, awesome day. Enjoy pics.

Had a really great day Thankyou again Joe, exhausted now can't believe you got this up so quick. Could not have done it with out mother Joe holding my hand and making sure I was doing ok . Swear this guy was not going to have a good day if I did not get my ab. I still need a little more weight on my belt took 4 attempts to get one and had to hold on to see weed to keep me down saw the biggest one 2 feet further down and just could not get to it.
I was going nuts over how fishy the area was and wanted to do some spearing but Joe called and said to head in . This where I would have made a huge mistake did not realize how tired I already was and what it was going to take to get in . It did take everything I had left to make it in , I dragged my self the last 10 ft out of the water.Once again an example of learning from some one elses experience.
Stopped in Petaluma for lunch found an awesome family owned place wish I would have paid attention to the name.

Sweeet!
Way to go on your first ab dive!  Btw, I don't know if it's the "3-boob abalone" look or shaving your mustache, but you sure look handsome in that 2nd picture.   :smt044

thx for sharing, guys.
