Bought my first yak in ~ 1999.  A nearly new hobie maui.

Moved into an apartment and sold it to a fat lady and her fat baby huey-looking kid.  They haggled me hard down to $190, both professing "great excitement to finally get to go kayaking all the time."  About two days later, I saw my boat for sale on cl for $300.   :smt011  :smt013

I wish i had never sold the maui.  It paddled great and was lotsa fun in the surf.

Kind of. My first kayak was a Malibu 2XL which I sold to Naoki. The next year I got a dog and bought another Malibu 2XL to kayak with Mollie. Cost me a few hundred bucks but hindsight is 20-20.  :smt005

I still paddle my Agean tandem with the wife.  do not remember when I bought it, but was the 1st or 2nd year they offered it.  Still a toad, but nice to have a tandem for dates with the wife.  :smt008

i still use the old scupper pro my wife and i bought used for 125.00 in monterey from adventures by the sea. this kayak has brought us a lot of good luck fishing and diving and has held probably hundreds of pounds of fish from nor cal all the way to the channel islands. off season i use it to duck hunt the marches in rwc.

when i sold my second scupper to someone on NCKA forum it was the newer cleaner one since it looked much better. this old one still works great and still has a lot of life in it.

I've been paddling my P15 since 2007. Great advice from "Mooch" when I made the purchase :thumright:

I still have my first yak, but i never use it. I actually need to throw some pics up on here some time and see if anyone knows what it is. It has no brand name or numbers on it. It had a 1' crack in the stern when i got it. Fiberglass strip an resin fixed it right up. Was a stained white, scrubbed it down an did the rattle can cammo job. Got it for $10 off CL. Freaking thing is uncomfortable, tracks like crap and is tippy as hell. Still fished the hell out of it though. It got me in the game an kept me there till i could upgrade.

Nope. First yak was an OK Caper that I bought in '03.

I sold it to Mooch a few years ago to make up some of the cost of the P15 I bought that day.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Gave my original boat a Hobie Quest to my kids. It still gets out now and again. Nowa days, Hobie Rev. Paddle, I don't need no stinking paddle!!! :smt005 Well maybe for launch and landing. Occasional backing up....... :smt002
