Met with Henry (Dolphin) at monterey Bay Kayak at 07:30Hrs. We Launch and headed towards the red bell buoy. We started to fish for sanddabs in a 140ft of water and immediately started to hook into the flat little guys. The bay was pretty calm and loaded with baitballs all over the place. Anchovies every where! The Sea Gulls, Seals, ect...where having a feast. After loading up on sanddabs we headed toward the big hotel (Monterey Bay Hotel on the beach) formally known as the Holiday Inn. We dropped down into 70-80ft to each catch 1 blue. Fishing was slow for rockfish. I think they were just fat with all the Anchovies in the water. It was pretty amazing to be surrounded by millions of fish with there mouth wide open and braking the surface. I was wishing we had a net that we could try scooping them up with. Anyways, Henry and I paddled toward the coast Guard pier and just decided to head in. I ended up with 41 sanddabs and 1 blue. I'm not sure haw many Henry ended up with. Thanks Henry for the company. That was quite the paddle we did that day. Back on the Beach around 3pm.

Alex

Sorry about that. The way I prep them is basic. I cut the heads off,gut and scale them and pan fry them with salt and pepper. The Big ones I fillet and pan fry them in drawn butter with a little salt and pepper and top it of with a garlic, caper, butter, wine sauce...really simple dish but very tasty. :smt003
