I just spent the last two days digging up the main water liner on the property trying to find the leak, that is spewing out 982 gals of water a day... Finally found it. The freaking hole is the size of a pencil lead, so either it is not the leak or the water was just really pushing out. This has already messed with my fishing time enough. So we'll patch it and wait a couple days and see what happens. Wish me luck.

Been there, done that.  Keep digging, 982 gallons a day isn't coming out of a hole the size of a pencil lead!  If it makes you feel any better, I'm taking out 21 Cypress trees tomorrow that are infested w/ caterpillars.

I think I'll keep the BBQ going all day though w/ some venison and wash it down w/ frosty beverages at least.

The pissy thing is that 1/2 the line runs thru some REALLY thick dwarf willow an black berry bushes. So if that was'nt the leak that i patched today.... I see alot of chainsawing and weed eating before i can even dig up the rest of the line.

Sop digging and get a pipe burster and replace the line

Pump heavy mud into it and then seal it with concrete.

Sorry. That's a different "leak".
The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday!

I dropped CHUB off at a friends b-day party one day.
When I went to pick him up the road ( long driveway ) to his friends house was blocked off. There was a huge sink hole in the middle of the road. A leak in the main water line ( totally undetected ) had eroded the earth under the road and it all caved in.
Fortunately no one was driving over it at that time.
Good luck. I hate finding/fixing leaks.
