Went up to trinidad this morning. Launch was rough and seas did not smooth out much out of the surf zone. Went out to prisoner and dropped the crab ring then spent the next half hr. jigging a 8'' white curly tail an riding some large swell. Pulled the trap and not one crab, so moved trap to a new location then went back to jigging.Water is very murky an debris filled right now. Pulled trap after about half hr. an again no crab. had been on water for a little over an hr. by now. Decided to call it quits as swells were throwing me around pretty good. On the way back in i stopped in the kelp and jigged for a few minutes an got one bite. Got myself lined up for the landing and waited for a smaller set and went for it..... And had a good size wave catch me at the last minute and roll me. Was only in water up to neck so grabbed yak and gear in reach and hauled it to shore then had to wade back out and grab rest of gear. Hopefully by saturday seas will calm an clear up some.

Yikes, with the forecast you've got balls heading out solo!  Way to give it a try, glad to hear you managed to salvage all your gear...with the looks of things it might be a better weekend to tinker with the boat than get it wet.

Yup.. they looked around that big, I know when i slid off a swell it would block the view of shore, ya know your in some rough water then..lol
