Just got home and boy am I tired,
What can I say besides EPIC.
Eric - great job and thanks for all the hard work.
Big Jim - Congratulations on the victory - couldn't have happened to a better guy.
Saltydog - great hanging with you - except for the seal thing :smt005
(must have been something in our camp that got them aroused)
It was great to meet some new faces and see some old friends and the food this week was awsome.
I had so much fun I actually forgot to put my cabbie on the score card :smt013 oh well I really couldn't except the yak if I was lucky enough to win anyways.

Here's a pic of Lost Coast Jim working it.   (aka Saltydog...............aka Dances with Sea Lions)  :smt044

Watching Jim tame his lioness was hilarious. Whatever he was pissing was getting that sea lion fired-up.  She was ripping around and jumping completely out of the air within a foot on both sides of his yak time and time again.
Finally, with his free hand  :smt044, he's swinging at her with his club and gives her a love tap.

Jim had the ling mojo flowing!  I caught 4 underlings and couldn't catch a keeper to save the day. Jimmy landed 6 legal lings on derby day!

This was my first NCKA event, and it was an amazing experience! You know, I lurked on the forum for about a year before getting my kayak last May. Since then I've had the pleasure of meeting NCKAers on the water, and I check the board multiple times every day. In spite of nearly two years on the board, I didn't fully appreciate the true spirit of NCKA until GS4. I'm still awed by the camaraderie, the generosity, the brotherhood I enjoyed this weekend with people who previously were complete strangers. It was entirely unexpected, and something I've never experienced before. Thank you everyone for welcoming me to the group, for sharing food, drink, and fellowship! A special thanks to Eric for organizing an amazing event and for taking the time at the potluck to set me up with your grill when you had a hundred other things to do.

Congratulations BigJim on the BigWin! Well deserved. I'm stoked for you, bro! Looking forward to hooking up with you in Cap one of these days.

And, I can't wait for the next NCKA event!!!  :smt007

I think it's safe to say that everyone up at GS4 would have traded all of their fish back in for a shot at a 14lb king.
I know I would.  :smt007
Huge congrats on your fish John!  :smt001

First and foremost, Thank You Eric/Abking. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with open arms by the campground staff and Jack (quite the character in a good way). As the campers started filing in the greetings continued.
Friday morning Team Cheap Hookers hit the water in search of salmon. The fog made things interesting and kept us wondering what would happen on Saturday if the fog remained. Congratulations John on the beautiful king that gave us all hope for a chance to catch one as well but not to be...not for lack of trying.
Saturday was like a big game of Where's Waldo with team mates searching for their brethren. Locals would cruise by in their boats and make comment as to the number of kayak fishers on the water....never seeing such a site in their lives. Listening to the radio as the day wore on it seemed as though everyone was having a great time being on the blue. Some of the landings after fishing were spectacular to say the least. The ones I witnessed were not so much from the surf but more from lack of attention after the dismount.
Later at the banquet the generous food and fun spirited conversation flowed. Just when you thought you could not eat another bite another dish would appear. Scott/GB2's cioppino put me over the edge....delicious! After the feast it was time for the awards. Congratulations Jim, GS4's Anger Of The Day! Well deserved too.
Eric's months of hard work putting together this event clearly showed. He even managed to coerce the weather gods into giving us safe fishable seas. Thank You Everyone for another Great Adventure both on and off the water.

What a trip!  Epic is right, this is the not to be missed event.  Eric really put this out of the park…again!  I am already gearing up for GMS 5!

I had a ball meeting everyone, and seeing people I met last year.  It was fun watching FishMaster and his boy diving.  That boys of yours is half fish!   Stoggie and Al, I owe you guys a Whiskey Flip!

BanjoTad, I had a great time.  I couldn’t ask for a better Yak partner out there.  Yeah I had to stick it out as long as I could, a couple fish could have put me in the running but it wasn’t to be.  Although fishing was not hot for me, the Ocean conditions were fantastic.  Shelter Cove is really an incredable place.  I got my three Ab’s on Friday, Yak fished Saturday and caught a mess of perch off the beach.  I had so much fun, I forgot to take a bunch of pictures like usual!  But here are a few:

Battleship TAD!

The launch, with my kayak all geared up.

Tad with a Bendo!

Tad hooks up again!

What a trip, it is going to take me days just to recover now!  Can’t wait to do it again!  By the way, hauling that trailer over the hill was an adventure in itself!  Not sure if I will do that one again, the hotel looked awful nice after that haul…….

Matt
