This is a late post, but I fished my new secret spot on Sunday with Snagged and his dad.  It was a really nice park in the middle of the Tiburon Peninsula that had no one fishing it. I mean nobody.  Of course, I'm talking about Paradise, but I guess the combination of the event the day before, Mother's Day and the storm coming through made everyone bug out.  Snagged and his dad got a couple of bites, but had to head in at around noon.  I had one on for a second at about 10 am, but lost it.  At about 1 pm, I decided to call it a day and trolled back in, battling the wind all the way.  I was at the take out when I reeled up, only to find a violently murdered shiner attached to my hook.  Damn, they were biting, and I needed to get back out there.  Boosted by a surge of adrenaline, I headed back out, past the pier which was barren of people on this day.  I dropped my last bait, a bullhead the size of small mouse into the deep.  Within 5 minutes I got a very aggressive takedown.  I gave the line some slack, noticed he was still biting aggressively, and reeled up hard and fast to set the hook in him.  The fight was  on instantly, and after a tussle, a familiar dark shape appeared out of the deep.  I scooped it up quickly with my net and was totally drenched by a 12-14 lb, very unhappy halibut.  Good times. . .

Thanks guys.  I caught this one right in front of the pier.  My little inflatable gets blown around in the wind pretty hard, so I really had to paddle hard to keep my drift speed slow enough to not miss the short strikes.  Anyways, I hope to fish with many of you this summer.  Tight lines. . .

Surftrekker, glad your effort paid off and had a good time.
Looking forward to hooking up with you as well.
