Gobble, gobble...

It never ceases to amaze me how the critters like to be out and about after a day of intense rain. As I drive up there are quail and rabbits all over the place. They seem happy to be soaking up the sun. The horses were no exception.
I found the turkeys to feeling the same vibe. Still smart and fidgety though. I got my shots, but none hit more than feathers. All in all, a great day afield.

I was driving so 211 from ferndale last week...Lost coast....and as I'm driving along I'm seeing cows on my left and I say to myself "THIS IS COW COUNTRY"  as I look closer....it's freaking huge Turkey........HUGGGGEEEEE....and i'm thinking wheres my gun.....

Too funny! What is that wrapped around your arrow shaft. I'd guess thats a bear paw but looks wierd. The arch on the lower left don't look right. nothing to scale it with.???

Randall, that's a tiny rubber band around my arrow shaft. It holds my mechanical broadhead closed while in the quiver. After being shot the band tends to slide down the shaft like in the pic. The fuzzy stuff is feathers.
Here's paw on paw shot for scale. If not a bear, what?

Juan... great pics.  Sorry about the loss of your broadhead.  Those buggers ain't cheap.  Nice tracks though.
