...did you happen to mark the hitchhiker spot on your GPS?  :smt003 I'd love to go back to the scene of the crime w/you and investigate further. Maybe the purp is still in the area (they always return to the scene of the crime....I watch a lot of Law & Order SVU and it sounds like your ling may have been molested).      :smt044

Hi Pat,

I want to smack my self upside the head for not doing that.  In fact there was also the spot where I caught the cabs that I should have marked as well.   I caught the two cabs out of the same spot but then lost the location after I caught the second one.  In my defense, I am still learning to use my fish finder for more than marking structure.  In fact, I used your idea of marking the corners of the Pinnacles SMR on my fish finder which really helped me know for sure that I was outside the reserve.  Now I am going to have to learn how to mark locations where I have caught fish (plus have the presence of mind when I am catching the fish to mark the spot - that could be a bit more difficult.).

Hey Bink, the father/son was me (Eugene aka e2g) and Nathan.  We had a 25 inch ling, and and some olives.  Overall fishing for us was a bit slow, but that one school of olives helped add some nice fillets for dinner.

We headed in a bit early so that Nathan could do some spearing.  He didnt shoot anything but did see some undersized lings, so was stoked.

Hi Eugene,

Sorry we didn't get to exchange names at the launch, however at least this way I will remember your names.  I'm really bad at remembering names but good at faces.  It was nice meeting you and Nathan out there on Sunday.  You also had a pretty nice stringer, I like the big grassie you caught at the end of the day.

Seeing two lings on your line must have gotten the heart racing!
Maybe this is what you meant when you said you marked the corners of the SMR on your gps, but in case not, here's a tip -it really helped me to mark those corners and then make a "route" out of them, so that the Pinnacles SMR shows up as a rectangle bounded by dark lines on my cheap gps, and I can slide close to the line and zoom in on the screen and see that I'm still legal --did the same with the other SMR's in the area -Lover's Pt isn't a rectangle, but just 3 (I think) waypoints joined by a dark line.
