Since I use the puck mounted transducer, I usually read about 69 degrees internal hull temp and wonder what the water temp is.  Instead of doing some other transducer mount just to pickup water temp, what else can I use?  Thinking something better than a glass thermomoter... Maybe a plug-n-play one you can just plug into your scupper?  What options are there out there?

Thanks!

Stick your hand in the water.  If it's numb after 30 seconds then the water is too cold!  :smt003

Pool thermometer, floating style, fits the scupper and some the top end is wider so I won't fall through.

A few weeks back I was in my local Harbor Freight store and picked up a indoor/outdoor digital thermometer for $6.99.  It's probe has about 6' of cable (Maybe more) and the probe it's self is waterproof.  You could set the thermometer in a side tray and string the probe back to a scupper and let is sit in the scupper.

I have an aquarium thermometer that is similar, with about 3 feet of cable/probe.  Very accurate and waterproof.  So try your aquarium/fish store, PetSmart or even Walmart...

...just ask Sara. Doesn't her T140 have a custom temp sensor that plugs into the scupper?
But yeah, pool thermometer is brilliant. Might have to copy that.
