I'll be there.
I just got in from diving there this am.  Saw swarms of newly hatched fish, viz was about 4ft.  Didn't shoot or pop anything--just enjoying the calm waters.

I didn't see you out crabbing all winter?  Doing time? :smt044

I'm contemplating it. It would have to be a flat day though.
You plan on launching where all the boats launch with the tractor? I've only launched there once, many moons ago, and I wasn't fishing then.
What about a place to stay? The campground full then? Probably is.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

i just launch right off the beach. And i hit it a couple times for crab, but not really much of a crabber. Went up there quite a few times and fished off pier and wished i was out farther. As for the campgrounds i would imagine around patricks point would be available. There is also the KOA in between arcata an eureka

I'm going to miss the opener this year, picked myself up a Boston Whaler so my WAF points are gone for at least a year!  Will probably be over for a family trip sometime in June though, should be able to sneak out for a morning run.

Redwood,

I had a lot of people coming into the store asking if I was hitting Trinidad for the opener but I will be at Shelter Cove.

I will direct them to this thread.

Ahhhh,Don't know anything about there. Never fished there. I love Trinidad. I lost a nice Ling right in the middle of the boats on the last day last year, Going back to see if he's still around ;)

There is some nice fish right in the middle of the boats. Between Prisioner rock and the shore is a nice deep channel that is always good for a big ling.

Hope you guys have a great day!
