Trying again - after last Sunday's windblown fiasco.  Pigeon, this Saturday, 7:30.  Will probably be launching from the dirt lot off of Hwy1 1/4 mile south of the lighthouse, though might consider launching from the lighthouse beach.  PM me if you need my cell to coordinate.  I've got a confirmed paddling buddy, so no problem if you are tentatively in.  Company welcome.

I also want to fish Franklin Point before the fall.  Anybody?

mcag,

Im tentatively in...

Might hit SWS again, but i've been wanting to go here too.

Killer fishing out there i'm guessing, as all your guys reports are fish filled!

hey is this the dirt lot you are talking about..?

how far from there are the fishing grounds, and are you paddling north or south?

Thanks brother

That is the dirt lot, but a caveat - you need a 4x4 to get down there.  If you don't have one, I can carry your yak down from the roadside.  The other alternative is to launch from the lighthouse.

The reason I like launching from the beach at the lot is 1.) there is a great rip there that takes you out and 2.) the fishing grounds are literally off that beach.  So it isn't a paddling event like getting to the EKG (my favorite, soon to be open fishing spot).

Hope to see you there - PM me if you need my number.

I'm tempted to join you but Sunday is Mother's Day and mom is in Monterey. Will probably do Stillwater in the morning while she is at church.
FYI 5/9 looks awesome for surf launches

I am in. Weather looks great. I launched once from the lighthouse, and I don't have 4x4 but I will figure it out. I'm freakin pumped after those pics from SWS last weekend.

I am in. I've never fished in that place before. Will an all-wheel-drive minivan make it to the beach? The ground clearance is low.

You might want to launch from the lighthouse.  We'll coordinate as a group in the morning and figure it out...

The lighthouse is an easy launch, but you need help getting your yak down the stairs.

My Explorer's mysterious 4 wheel drive doesn't work phenomenon ( according to my wife) was in fact her trying to put it in 4WD LO while moving, and you can't do that!!!

4 wheelin baby!!

So I've got room on the rack for an additional yak Eric...

Mike, Wheeeeeeleeeeez???
