pb report
my brother, Russell and i launched at martinez early on saturday. i wanted to fish the mbf, but stiff wind and outgoing tide had the water roiling brown and white, i mean really rough! we found some calm water in suisun slough and some jumpers and some small stripers, next we anchored in zuma, same story, blue skies, sunshine and jumping rolling sturgeon. at 3 we started back to martinez, i was ready for a wet ride back, but with incoming tide smooth out the wind waves, so we stopped at the mbf.
at 4 pm we were hanging out, no more sandwiches, one last beer, talking about the boredom of sturgeon fishing when... my bro says. "DUDE, i got one!", the braid sings off the reel, then i shout, "i got one too!". DOUBLE HOOKUP! my fish tail walked twice, dove deep, more singing braid, zing zing, over, under third rod tangles in over under some more "LOOKOUT FOR THE PROP", my fish is ready first, i have the net in one hand, rod in the other and 20 knots of wind in my face, i can not get that fish in the net, russ stuffs his rod in the holder, graps the net, scoop and fold, fish on the deck. back to russ and his fish, 10 minutes later, he brings it to the boat, simultaneous "WHOA", it was over 6 feet and had huge shoulders, we looked at my net and at the fish and figured it would never fit. we unhooked it in the water and it slid back down into the depths. it was russ's 1st sturgeon, and we had double, it was cool.
oh yeah, my fish was 59" and heavy!

Chris... sounds like you and your bro had a killer day. Dinos have been on munching. Glad you guys hooked into a couple. Long day but the late hook up makes it worth it.

Wry...
