I got a quick question to toss out there. I'm looking into getting my wife a kayak - she would occasionally fish out of it, but I would be taking her gear out on my boat when she does. It's general purpose would be to flit around while I fish. She wants a sit on top, but doesn't have a preference regarding the make. I figured a good used boat would be easier on the bank account so...

Does anybody have some feedback or recommendations on non fishing sit on top yaks?

Thanks for the help and input!

Well maybe you should have... sorry she's taken too  :smt005

Anyway shes' 5 ft 11 inches and about 140lbs. I'm thinking anything less than 9 feet would be a little short...

My wife is  a little shorter than yours, little lighter, and she paddles an Ocean Kayak Venus 11. It has storage area behind her, a 6 inch hatch in the cockpit, and an optional cutout up front for a hatch. It paddles well, is very stable, and she loves it!!

Look into buying a used Ocean Kayak Caper or Venus. They are usually sold for cheap, after some poor dude buys one for his GF then discovers she doesn't like kayaking or fishing.  :smt044

I was told by a family friend that tandem kayaks should be renamed divorce kayaks :smt003.

Thanks for all the help guys, although it appears I am on the outside of an inside joke regarding yakhopper's pink venus...
