1989 Mazda B2200 -SOLD-

The Good:
Red Exterior/Grey Interior
Shortbed
5-speed manual transmission, buttery smooth...NO grinds
173k miles
Manual Steering and Windows
NO A/C
Replaced headgasket 1,000 miles ago
Timing belt and water pump done 1,000 miles ago
Redline synthetic fluids in transmission and differential.
Brake and clutch fluids flushed (<500 miles ago)
Front and rear brakes replaced less than 50 miles ago. (new pads, shoes, rotors, drums)
Newer radiator and hoses (<3,000 miles ago)
Newer tires, Yokohama AVID touring (<1,500 miles) - if Mooch takes the tires before heading to Alaska, then it'll have some less 'exotic' and more aged tires.
Auxiliary driving lights
Vintage Kenwood tape deck with AM/FM radio
Custom wood center console(not really great, but I wanted to use the word custom in the ad)
BBM hood pins to keep that hood secure when blasting on the freeway at 60mph.
Aftermarket Tachometer to keep the revs in check for best MPG.
26 mpg Highway
20 mpg City
22 mpg Combined
Kayak hauling capacity...we have had up to 5 kayaks and 3 passenders(including driver)
Taken trips to up and down the coast line.  Would make a great kayak beater.
HMBKC, NCKA, Hook1, Plano, Aquan, and other elite stickers!!!

The Bad:
*The carburetor is funky on cold days.  Warm/Hot days the truck starts up fine without a hitch.  When cold, it takes a crank or two to get the thing going.  Probably needs a rebuild OR replacement(w/ a weber carb).  I vote replacement.  Weber carbs are about $250 and easy to install, BUT not smog legal in CA.  The pros for the Weber carb = better MPG and of course MORE power!!!
*It will most likely fail smog b/c of the screwed up carb.  In that event, I will do the CA voluntary vehicle retirement program and collect $1000 from the state.

So it's up for sale.  If you can get it "smogged" then you have a good yak transporter.

$1,000 or more.  Will be sold as a parts car on Bill of Sale.  I don't want the headache of somebody coming back to be because their hookup couldn't pull through to get the vehicle smogged.

I spent the first three quarters of 2009 in New York.  Then spent the final quarter in Hong Kong.  I'm back for another 6.5 months before I ship off to Asia again.

At least, I'll see a Salmon, RockFish, and Crab season before I leave!   :smt002

Thanks Sam.  I knew you couldn't resist if I threw in the P15.  Enjoy the truck and the yak!

See you on the water,
Mike
