Yeah, this is why I missed the crab fest. I wanted some redemption to catch
my first kokanee on the yak. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. But catching a handful of SMB and some spotted bass made up for the lack of
kokes.

I met up with Naoaki just before they closed the gate at Oak Shore Park
last Friday. We fished immediately right after we made camp and off we
went armed with some different sizes of minnows. We worked the coves and
the edges of the lake and caught numerous SMB. After that, we sat inside the cove where we had set camp and fished there for a while but no fish. By
then it was passed midnight and we hadn't had dinner yet. Came back to
the camp to cook dinner. We had rib eye and grilled zucchini and some cold
ones for dinner.

Got up super early Saturday morning before the sun came up to troll for some
kokanee. We fished almost all the way on the other side of the lake with no
bite at all. We were at it till noon and that was that. I said we better get back to have some lunch but keep fishing the edges and use up the minnows.
Caught some more smallies along the way. Naoaki caught a huge largemouth
bass. A big one for that lake anyways but I will let Naoaki tells his story on
that one. On my hail mary run, I caught my last fish thinking that it was going to be another smallie until she showed herself. A nice crappie. My first
ever crappie.

What a fun weekend. Thanks for the hookup Naoaki.

It was a last mins camping trip but I had a great time!!!
I was gonna stay one more night, but I hurt my back unloading the ice chest full of water & minnows, so I left with Jed yesterday.
