Doesn't sound uneventful to me. Bummer about the cut line.

Probably wouldn't help with the shark but don't be shy with the halibut leaders. Halibut are not line shy and there is nothing wrong with a 30# plus mono leader.

At least you had some action with the shark and mystery fish etc. Thanks for the report!

Sorry I couldn't join you guys but decided to hit the Montezuma slough instead once I heard about all the boats that were going to be out there. No love in the sloughs either just got in about 10 miles of paddling and a lot of sun.

good meeting up with you james, i pulled into LL at 645ish with gabe(el dorado) hot on my heels, we each grabbed shiners and headed for paradise, pulled in at 7 and proceeded to get rigged up, jonesz pulled in a few minutes behind us, launched from the ramp from hell with no incidents and headed towards the point, with in a few minutes i had a little tap tap tap and set to nothing, pulled up to find half a shiner, damn here we go again, this happened a few more times then gabe starts giving me shit about feeding my pet halibut and getting it all fattened up for him, alas no love for me again, had all shiners destroyed by something again, just cant figure out the bite or hook set yet, but learning, jonesz said he saw one halibut caught from the pier when he was paddling out and one from a PB and that was it for the day, it was a gorgeous, warm windless day only thing that could have been better was not so many big boats, or boats that would have shared the bbq they were cooking, sorry didnt take many pics today, cameron

Except for the lack of pull downs, that was one of the nicest days I've had out there, in regards to wind. i can't remember the last time I was out there not fighting the winds. It all seemed like it had the potential for an epic day. Good tide, flat bay, warm spell....Oh well! It was nice seeing some of the boyz OTW. When I saw one caught on the pier in the beginning I thought we were in for a productive day. Turned out to be only one fo two I saw landed all day. The PB armada showed up and a bunch of cruisers and sailboats were anchoring right through the drift, started becoming an obstical course. The tide started to become too much to fight in the afternoon, so I packed it in. Always good to get out on the water tho...
