Dove there the day Piscean encountered his GW. Haven't dove there since. It is really shallow then a drop, just like Piscean said, a shelf with lots of potential for the predator.

Brah, much better structure elsewhere. Although, when it is fac conditions, willing to try something new. There is always a chance of the encounter.

It's just a a few fin strokes away from Ano Nuevo, which is GWS headquarters.  I think I'd be too nervous.  But.... the tagging research is really showing that the whites hit it out halfway to Hawaii right now, so your chances would be better if you dove there now.

hehe I still can't give up on the spot, because I'm convinced there are tons of fish and big ones too in that water.  But yeah, let's do hook up next time you go north.

Bluestar:
You obviously have concerns about the dive area, legitimate concerns given the intel about the area.  Why practice there if you don't feel fully comfortable?  There are a lot of guys who drive a couple of hours to dive in relatively safer spots (SWS or Ft. Ross areas)- of course there are no guarantees.

Check the hookups in this forum or on norcalunderwaterhunters.com
There are a lot of newbie divers  like myself, BaitnBeer and others who will be diving a lot this year.  I will PM you the next time I go.
Send us a PM for a dive, and join us.  There are also experienced guys like Steve, Amphibian, Bloodbath, Fuzz and Andy the FishMaster (who probably hasn't seen a rod/reel since starting to dive).

Be safe and hope to see you OTW
