There was actually a little crowd at Stillwater this morniong, 7am.  Ed from Monterey, Mustache Pete, Tina (?) and her friend whose name I forget, and a couple more people that launched before harvey, james and I.

We followed Ed out around the corner, made it to 100 feet and the wind came up from the East big-time.  I figure 22 knots or so, just starting to whitecap.

Along with the 4-5 fot swell, we opted for the cove.

Once inside it was slow but steady pick of small blues and both Harvey and i got legal Cabbies.

Ed came back from the cove near Cypress, and apparently the fishing was about the same out there, so no real loss.  i think the place to be was the deep, and probably the pinnacles.  Just too snotty to feel safe out there for the group.

Good day, good company, and as always, a beautiful spot to fish.

Overslept but thanks to Kim and Dave's wakeup call, I managed to join the group about 7.  We had the pleasure of meeting Alan and Harvey and with eyes wide open, we headed out.  Pretty slow for Stillwater but the wind finally laid down and the day was glorious.

Paddled out to the Pinnalcles, not much going on, even the blues were oversleeping today.  Moved in closer to shore and brought in a nice cab to end the season.  Bonus - found an ab about 4" in its gut when cleaning.  Not sure what the regs are in this case but I absolutely deny eating it.

Just about to leave when two kayakers came in with 3 huge lings, 15-20# I'd guess.  Also met Mark who was fishing by the lone cypress and scored some nice vermillion.

Not bad for the end of autumn with winter right around the corner.  California, somebody's got to do it and I'm glad it's us.
