I know it's early, but I can't help myself.  I'll be fishing south of the lighthouse both days.  Am thinking a 7:00 to 7:30 launch.  Company welcome.

I'd love to do a trip to Franklin Point as well.  Much better to hit that in May than October...

That's a fair excuse.  I got one out of Santa Cruz this year, but on the boat, not the yak.  Good luck in SoCal!

Thanks - looking forward to it.  Also Porky - I've been going down to SC for salmon (I've got a boat at SC Harbor) - but - I want to yak it when they come in some - let me know if you're up for it this month.  Looks like it's gonna close by month-end...

Yeah - I've got a 22' Grady down there.  Re: kayaking, we could mooch, or sinker-release troll.  I'll keep watching.

I heard some Halibut were caught at the mile buoy a few days ago.  Should be dead calm this weekend.  I'd paddle out, but am going for salmon again.

When they are in, let's coordinate a trip.

can someone provide the launch site info?  Google or any other info would be appreciated.
Never fished the area even though it's closer to my home than Ft. Ross to the north or Monterey to the South...

Here is the google map...

Pigeon Point, Pescadero, CA 94060

Some people launch from the stairs below the lighthouse.  I prefer to beach launch a little further south.  If you scroll along highway 1 about 1/8 of a mile past the lighthouse, you see some dirt paths that run up to the beach.  I'll be at the southernmost path.  I like this launch because it gets you fishing faster.  It's not a hairy beach launch unless the swell is way up.

So - weather looks like it could be tough, but the point should minimize the swell.  It's more of an issue for wind.  Let me know what you're thinking...

Wind is lookin' kinda ugly at this point. I hope the forecast changes but right now it's not lookin' so great @ 15 to 25 kts.

I was checking in on Surf-Forecast.com, and there is a certain area of the San Mateo coast that has a predicted swell of 1.5ft. Saturday afternoon, evening and it extends through Sunday morning. May be time to dust off the gear and hit it!!!
