Damn!!!  I've got a wildland class that saturday... Looks like i'll be heading down to MBK on Sunday the 2nd pending the weather.   I'm still a noob and hear that MBK is a good place to start.  Plus I just got my rack all setup on top of my mustang -  kinda rediculous looking, i'm proud!
  Good luck everybody

Well, I might stay overnight and fish the next day as well.  If I do, I can try and meet up with you on Sunday if you want some company.

FYI...checked out that website and just tried to call the Pool Desk:

http://www.garlic.com/~triblet/ba_diving/launching_at_stillwater.html

"Call 831-625-8507 (Beach and Tennis Club main number) or 831-625-8536 (the pool desk, where they make the reservations)..."

The girl who answered said they don't take reservations and she said she didn't know why they had those signs up anymore... :smt012

So...I guess it is just first come first serve and take your chances...

Looking forward to checking the place out!!
 :smt006
Sincerely,

Jim

Thanks for the information.  Well, hopefully, those of us who go, will be there early enough for it not to matter.

Okay folks here is the WX from the noaa for this weekend:

SAT
W WINDS 5 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 1 TO 3 FT.
W SWELL 6 TO 8 FT.

Based on the weather report, it looks like it will be sunny and warm, but there will be a bit of a breeze and more swell than I would like to see.  I suspect the morning will be okay, but that everyone will want to be off the water by noon.  Any other opinions on whether this hookup is still a go?  The other option is to move it up the coast a bit to MBK which is even more protected.  Any strong opinions one way or another?  My vote is to attempt the launch out of stillwater.  I am planning on getting there at around 6:00 AM.

I'm looking to go on Sunday. You can also launch from the boat launch next to the Coast Guard/seal rocks.  Easy and you don't have to drag your yak through the sand. The parking lot is only a few feet away and the parking cost the same as at MBK.

Good luck guys. And don't forget to avoid the Pinnacles SMR.

This NOAA point&click tool is usually accurate. Here's a forecast for that specific area. Looks gnarly. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=36.55101728853513&lon=-121.97296142578125&site=mtr&smap=1&marine=1&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=marine
