Down in New Zealand kayakers were being fished by great white sharks, instead of the other way around. Scary!

according to this guy you should pet them on the nose and then ask them for a ride!

If I never see one of those it will be too soon.
I am not buying into the shark surfing tho.

Yep. During my "viewing", falling out of the yak was my #1 thing not to do :smt003

Where does one start?

1) Australia, not NZ. Notice the Sydney bridge in the background of the newscaster.
2) That shark still had milk on it's lips (figuratively speaking)
3) Maybe I'm way out on a limb here, but I'd think the first thing you do when a curious GWS is swimming around your kayak, is stay in the effin' boat.
4) Menaces? Hunts? Terror?

Slow news day, what ?

There is definitely a remarkable growth in the number of kayak anglers around the world. When I was in Hawaii last month, it was amazing how many kayak anglers were on the water compared to 5 years ago. Unfortunately, it is only a matter of time before someone get bit. Looks like one of the yakers was in a red kayak. Hopefully this didn't give Dan or Sean PTSD.  :smt005

This is also my policy.

nah, I will fish the super secret spot again. Just maybe not up into the middle of October :smt002
funny, at lunch today a woman next to me was talking about this video & acted all "in the know" when she mentioned a story about a guy up north of santa cruz who had "the back of his boat bitten off" a few years ago.  Just funny how stories get "adapted" for dramatic effect.
I just nodded & said "yeah, I was there".
