It was not so lovely a day for Izi, Ed, Randy and I, but despite a bit of cold air blast and modest swell we managed some good fish.

Blues were still biting on everydrop if you offered them anything remotely like a sardine.  Quality was stilll excellent.  And the others were there in varying numbers.

But, none of us were there for rockfish, so there was lots of C/R going on.  We were looking for our last lings and cabezon........and we found a few.  Nothing huge but nice fish for Izi, Randy and I.  Heck, I had my first legal ling on my second drop in the same place that I started on Tuesday.......I don't get it but I was happy to finally boat one....... :smt045

In an attempt to avoid the fish grabbing seals, and the swell, Izi, Randy and I tucked ourselves into the rocks west of Cypress Point.  I got another legal ling (c/r) and Izi got his cabezon and a nice red for keepers.  Izi also hooked a very nice ling but lost it at the side of the boat.  We worked our way in, stopping at nice spots and Randy scored the bigger ling of the day and I got my legal cabezon.......for a keeper........ :smt003

Ed was being experimental and just did c/r.  He will return in a day or so for a keeper.

The beach shot doesn't show off the fish real well, but it was a nice day.

Here're a few more pics from our Thanksgiving fishfest.  This was my first time out with a new camera.  It's a Pentax Optio 33WR.  I hope it's as waterproof as advertised.  By the way, for the hot deal, PrestigeCamera.com is selling these refurbished for about $120.

Pat and Randy,

Thank you for sharing your fishing tips and fishing holes.  Now I am convinced that big fish can be found in shallow water.
Nice meeting you, Ed.

Good job Pat,

Nice to see that you had just as much fun as I did on Thanksgiving. Great pix too... also, thanks on the tip for a camera. I'm definitely going to have to invest in another one.

Ok, that pretty much decides it for me.  Stillwater it is on Sunday.  Great pix and conditions looked fantastic!  I might have to get one of those cameras too.  Waterproof?  120?? what's the megapixels on these things?

Now I'm getting excited. I really want a cabbie, they are SO good to eat!!!   :fishing2 :nemo: :nemo:

Also, the hot shower factor is well wotrth the eight buck factor, I think.  I might have to wear my 4/3....Or the waders with multi-polypropes beneath, and the green fuzzy hat.

Hey Allen,

The camera is a 3.2 megapixel.  Here's a link:  http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/optio33wr.html

Stillwater is probably the best choice for Sunday, based on current forecasts.  If we get a chance, we'll drive over and take a look at the bay and post about what we see.

By the way, the showers at Stillwater have been cold for the past several weeks.   :smt010

Wind and swell are coming down all day on Sunday.  The morning might not be too good, but later in the day is shaping up.  I'm thinking about it ...

 .SUN...N WINDS 15 TO 25 KT...DECREASING TO 5 TO 15 KT IN THE
AFTERNOON. WIND WAVES 2 TO 5 FT. W SWELL 8 TO 11 FT AT 12 SECONDS.
.SUN NIGHT...VARIABLE WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. WIND WAVES 1 TO 2 FT.
 W SWELL 7 TO 9 FT.
