Well I headed up the NCZ (Northern Cuda Zone) with low hopes due to wx. Small craft advisory was issued so didn’t think I was gonna be able to fish much. As I was driving north passed seaward and was thinking we our probably not getting out the palm trees were leaning over pretty well… Exited seacliffs which is only 5 miles north of seaward and guess what NO WIND… Nice… I can live with this… Swell was up a little with some 4ft faces on the way out but no problem timing was pretty easy… Started heading towards the zone… 3-5 miles out trolling a 4 inch split-back black and white rap, and a Mac Croc. Trolled all the way out and in, bait only on the inside as of now… But thick like blank out the finder think… The Slime Sticks avoided us the time… We headed back into find a little reef with some fish on it… Was not the target species but will do…

The bait that moved in after i was done trolling... LOL

Garets friends bass…

Ended the day at the GF brother’s house at Refugio.

Thanks for bringing back memories of my time in Ventura. I've fished that spot a dozen times, and caught some WSB there, as well as one BSB lurking around the pilings. There are some halibut around as well, but it looks like you had a good day with the sandies and calico.

There are some great kayak surfing breaks in that area too...south of there.
Always willing to join others in the Monterey/Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay area for a bit of fishing...feel free to contact me.

Nice bass Ryan.
Once that water temp gets to 62 degrees, it will be devil stick city!
I can't wait!  :smt007

Thanks also for the intel on the lures you were using.  They are pricey but from what I see and heard they work. :smt003

ya ARCO island is what some call rincon island since it is a couple miles to the south.

Nice bass Ryan.

Perfect timing. Heading down to see the in laws over Easter. Will be launching out of Channel Island Harbor. Looking forward to paddling in SHORTS! Hopefully the WX and seas cooperate
