Bamboo for cane poles

I am looking for a free or cheap source of bamboo to make some cane poles. Any leads? I need to make my perch/crappie slaying rod.

Brian, I had a bunch of 'em when I was at HMB (was gonna make some poke poles)...ended up giving them away. Anyway, I got 'em at Orchard Supply or was it Home Depot? Check both...

You want some bamboo? Next time you come up tp petaluma I have a freind who has a bamboo forest in his yard. Not the little shit. Some of the larger stalks are 4inches in diameter.

I got some bamboo growing in the back yard.  Just might be the one you need.  12-15 feet long.
