Alec, 15, founded Kids vs Global Warming, 3 years ago to educate his peers on the science of climate change and empower them to take action. The youngest person trained to present Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth in the US, Alec has presented to over 20,000 youth, delivered keynote speeches at international conferences, spoken on panels with PhDs, Nobel Prize winners, elected officials. He’s appeared on CNN, The CBS Early Show, Discovery Channel, ABC News. Awards include Brower Youth Award, International Youth Eco-Hero, Emerging Leader Award, ABC Cool Kids Award.

Alec feels called to do this work. It isn't a passing fancy with him. He gets standing ovations when he speaks and he can field questions about the environment from nearly anyone. Alec has taken his passion and commitment and created ways for other young people to get involved. He and his family have devoted their lives to being the change they want to see in the world. Alec is planning a Million Kid March in Washington DC, called the iMatter March: One Million Youth Stand Up for Their Planet in October 2010. He needs funding to accomplish such a lofty goal and to provide a powerful vehicle for youth and their parents to bring attention to the problems facing the environment to congress, lobbyists, the White House - and kids nationwide - the ones who will suffer the effects of global warming the most.
