met up with allen at leonards around 615 then headed over to black point where john joined us, paddled up river a bit and found some nice water and set anchor, hung there for awhile then moved further out into the channel. hooked up a starry, then a 21 1/2 inch striper, my first from the yak, and then got quiet for awhile, and hten the tap.....tap..tap and set to some good wieght but it didnt know it was hooked when it did it was alot of fun. landed it with out pulling anchor because the out go was moving pretty good and didnt know how far it would take me. great feeling getting that thing in the yak, it was not pretty in any way shape or form, but i got it in the yak. ended up being 58inches. great paddling with you guys today, the weather couldnt have been much better, sunny and warm with little wind. here some pics, cameron

Wow, it must have had some weight.  I am judging by all the water pulled through your scuppers!  Awsome, I can't wait till the stripers start their way north.

Big congrats Cameron. So you were the one my next door neighbor was
watching from his PB. He was telling me about how much your rod was
bending and all. So happy for you bro.

WTG! That dainty little "tap tap" is awfully deceiving when you swing and end up feeling a freight train on the other side. Congrats!  :smt003

Congratulations Cameron, I heard the swing and saw your rod load up but if I remember correctly you didn't think it was a big fish..... a second later your fishing pole bent over to the water. You played that fish so cool and calm all the way to the kayak. The fish was obviously in the slot but we didn't know how big it was until we got back to the parking lot. That's two beauties for you this year.....whooo hooo.
The rest of us did lots of swinging and missing as there is no way to tell if it's a sturgeon, striper or a bait stealer. Another Beautiful day on the water!

Awsome job man! I need to hit this spot since it looks like a short drive from my new house. Anyone heading up there this weekend I would love to hook up.
