Stu "Potato River" and I recently went on shroom-n-hog hunting trip in Sonoma County.  We hoped we'd find hogs to arrow, but only found chanterelles.  I made a tasty rissotto with the shrooms.

Pic 1 = Stu with the biggest chanterelle I've ever seen.
Pic 2 = A small motherlode of shrooms I came across
Pic 3 = Sliced chanterelles being dehydrated to intensify flavors

poison oak is still active in winter,,,,,all the leaves fall off and the long skinny wooded branches remain. Still loaded with itchy oil =  hard to identify other than long wooded braches=  :smt013

i've never eaten those, but i do love me sum shrooms!! = yummy!

WOW I am SO jealous, I have been walking for shrooms all spring and have only found chanterelles one time!  a couple of tiny boletes this year but disappointing overall.  care to share your shroom hunting tips?  the hogs have been trouble as well, but I think thats cause I keep hunting near Sac :(

I have been lucky enough to find 3 sheds this year, but only one is freesh :)

Good job fellas!  A load of chantrelles is a great backup harvest.  I was up there a couple times but never found the chantrelles... maybe timing was off.  Nice haul.

Sweet haul there boyz. I went out yesterday and snooped around in Marin for nada... Good to see they're still around. It's been a banner year for all shrooms.

Chuck, I finally got my license(s), dusted-off my AM32 and GTO, and tried to get my form back over the weekend. I guess I need to shoot more but I am ready... hunt or fish!
