There must already be a post on subject, but i didnt see it, so am starting a new one.

I think there must have been maybe 6-10 of us fishing in the shark derby.   Seemed like a pretty slow day, at least for me.

I got skunked for sharks, but marked a ton of fish - lots of fish schools, some with big fish.  The birds were working the water pretty well, and i did see a fish boil and splash.   Just couldnt hook them.   I bait fished for sharks, then tossed flies for stripers.   No love.

This was the first time i yakked the bay, but the experience surely whetted my appetite.   IT was nice to be out, so close to home, and seeing all those fish on the FF has really intrigued me.   I will be back for more.

It was nice to see everyone again and meet some new faces connected to familiar names.   Unfortunately, I couldnt stay for the lunch due to a prior commitment.

I was told by others that no one caught anything that day!

It looks like the recent rains flushed the sharks out of the bay.  I wish the fishing could have been better for the guys that gave it a good try.

It was nice to meet Flyaker, HamachiJohn, Porky, and others.

Porky hooked up shark hunters with his cool screen printed rockfish towels.  What an awesome conselation prize!  If you participated in the derby and didn't get your towel, send me a PM.

Thanks Chuck. Id like to thank ChuckE, EWB, and Stormscrambler for the quick work on getting me a working anchor system, really appreciate it. Good to see you Flyaker.

Glad ya guys like the towels, There basic, but i whipped them up the night before the derby, it got late so i didn't have time to add the grommets so you can clip them to your vest or tackle box. Everybody needs a spot to wipe them bloody hands, my wife got sick of me destroying our nice kitchen towels, the tackle towel was born. I got some new stuff in the works too.

PolePole, Thanks to you too for the awesome paddling pant and jacket, put it to work Sunday in Capitola.

You guys are a real nice group of people.

Ravensblack and Bassmanben, hope you guys are happy with your down riggers!.

what time were you all of the water?  Lisa and I brought the boat down (against the tide!) and did not get there until 1 pm but could not find a kayak anywhere nor could we get anybody to answer the radio.  Brought the boat all the way to the fuel dock, blew the horn and took off!    Nasty ride back to Sausalito from there, but no problem for our boat!
