Why do I do this to myself

This is my sons last summer before he goes out of state for college so I wanted to do something big. All 5 of us are going to Cabo for 2 full weeks. My dive buddy is taking his family and we are going to spearfish. So far so good. My wife is finishing her last prerequisite for nursing school and will quit her job as soon as she is accepted to a school. My son is going to an out of state university and my employer cut my pay and overtime. My wife and I agreed to go on financial lockdown to increase savings for what is coming. I'm still doing good and moving forward on the trip.

I started getting all my gear organized and getting the pieces I need for Baja but don't have (thanks Fuzz). I'm still doing good. I need an inflatable float for my son and a open water type gun (I have a big gun for myself). Several people offered to loan me a gun or sale me a used one cheap. Here is where the trouble begins. I just found one of the more impressive open water guns I have seen, including the stuff on the internet and the price was extremely good (very low for the gun but still not cheap). Now I'm scrambling to sell toys and scraping up money anywhere I can. My wife always knows when something is up because she sees me photographing everything in the garage and then going to the computer. Craigslist activity will be up for the next week.

I'm probably the only NCKAer that knows what this is like (yeah right).

We'll see what happens. I'll post pictures if I make it work.   

I can loan you an inflatable float to save a few bucks.   

Hey congratulations on you son going off to College.  What school is he going with?  I too have a son that this summer will be his last here for a while.  My son chose Penn State, University Park Campus.

Oklahoma Christian. I have to drive him out there with all his stuff. I may have to load the yak and hit a few places on the way back.

I've been semi-retired for 3 yrs. due to layoffs and state budget,
