Left San Leandro around 5:00am destine for Monterey. Got down there around 6:45 and started setting up. On the water around 7:15 and headed out to the mile bouy. Set up for the drift using squid. The weather was not too bad, winds started picking up around 11:00am and the swells were getting bigger. Heard on the radio about some fish been caught among the fleet and there were quite a few kayak fishermen on the water. Pulled the plug around 12:30pm. Well it was nice to be out on the big blue. Better luck next time and I guess thats why they gave the WSB its name the "ghost fish".

Nice try Fred and thanks for the report. I've been itching to get down there myself lately for dabs if nothing else.

Way to give it a try.  Hope you'll be at the right place and at the right time next time.  Thanks for the report Fred.

How was the landing back to the beach with the wind and big swells Fred? Nice
try on the WSB regardless.

Jedmo, the beach landing was a piece of cake. It was only the outside by the 1 mile bouy that the swells were getting bigger. But overall, it was not too bad. Hopefully I'll catch them the next time.

Good to meet you Fred. I launched w/you in the morning. You sure do paddle fast bro! No keepers for me either, just rockies and octopi. Hopefully you get one next time!

Pat, you have to excuse the bruddah, that hawaiian outrigger paddling mentality kicks in when ever I got in a boat with a paddle in my hand. We gotta do this again sooner so we can get one of those fish that keeps eluding us. Nice to meet you Pat, sorry didn't get a chance to hang around after fishing and chat with you.
