Is spearfishing allowed in Ocean Cove?

I read that people spearfish there.  I also read that it's a marine preserve, which, if I remember correctly, does not allow hunting.  Anyone can shed some light?  Thanks.

You can spearfish there. There are actually a few spearfishing tourneys held there every year.
Great structure, big boulders and lots of holes for fish to hide.

So, does each marine preserve make up its own rule regarding whether spearfishing is allowed??  'cause I remember at Pt Lobos spearfishing is NOT allowed....

You may be thinking of Gerstle Cove and Salt Point.  Not that far away.  Ocean Cove has a campground and launch ramp.  Be open for a long time.  Do not know if it is an MLPA now.

The Kruse Rhododendron preserve is there....
