Sailors Grafitti!

I have been continuing my education in knots and nautical crafts.  I finally decided to learn to needle hitch.  I practiced a little on some awl and fid handles and then decided to try a small forged knife I had.  It actually made a fine little sailors knife!  I tarred the line using a traditional recipe using pine tar, linseed and turp.

This may be fun on pliers, gaffs, fishing rods, ect.

That is sweet! I used to look through the Ashley knot book as a kid & wish for one of those cool knives-fids-etc they used as examples.
