I have been continuing my education in knots and nautical crafts.  I finally decided to learn to needle hitch.  I practiced a little on some awl and fid handles and then decided to try a small forged knife I had.  It actually made a fine little sailors knife!  I tarred the line using a traditional recipe using pine tar, linseed and turp.

This may be fun on pliers, gaffs, fishing rods, ect.
